Watch beautiful art being created before your eyes! Mary Frances is the owner of Design 52 – a multi-faceted design and art business that hosts classes and workshops for small groups. Main Street. 5 – 7 p.m. - Bushel & a Peck – Screen Printing – Bushel & a Peck moved into downtown Piqua late last year after establishing themselves as a successful vendor in regional craft and boutique events. Join Bushel & a Peck owner Jessica Ervin as she demonstrates the screen printing process and talks about the steps she and her employees take to make sure their items are of consistently superior quality. Ash Street. 5 – 9 p.m. - Temple of Tolerance - The Schmidlapp Free School Library - Jim Bowsher’s “Temple of Tolerance”, located in nearby Wapakoneta, is one of the most amazing assemblages of stone sculpture and social artifacts designed to provoke wonder and self-reflection. The display will include a display with photographs and books. At 7:00 pm, Joe Napora will introduce Bowsher’s Stone Garden with a brief talk and poetry reading. The Schmidlapp Free School Library is located at 509 N. Main Street. 5 – 9 p.m. - Sade – The Mercantile - Designer marker and Sharpie - Sade is a local artist who works primarily with designer markers creating colorful abstract pieces, as well as detailed illustrations. She’s been producing artwork here in Piqua for over 20 years. You can find her work on TikTok as 777dotk where she publishes recent work and live streams daily. The Mercantile is located at 415 N. Main Street. 5 – 9 p.m. - Ps33 Music – Uninhibited – Musical exploration – Stop by and meet new business owners Ron and Glenna Nelson. The Nelson’s started Ps33 Music, a new faith-based music business in Piqua whose mission is to equip God’s people for skillful worship in the home, church and community. The Nelson’s will have a variety of instruments available for the public to try and visitors can pick up information about the new Piqua community choir. Uninhibited is located at 329 N. Main Street. 6 – 7 p.m. - Lemon Meringue – Floral Design – Join Lemon Meringue floral designer Stacy Barlage at Barclay’s Men’s-Women’s Clothier from 6 – 7 p.m. for a glimpse into what it takes to make your own arrangements creative and beautiful. Learn the basic rules of good floral design and gather tips and advice. Also, learn about downtown Piqua’s newest flower shop and pick up information on their upcoming special events. Main Street. 6 – 7 p.m. - Dobo’s Delights – Cake decorating – We have all seen spectacularly decorated cakes and asked ourselves “How did they do that?” Join Cindy Dobo at Dobo’s Delights, 417 N. Main Street from 6 – 7 p.m. to learn the basics on how to decorate a cake, the tools you will need and the importance of the icing texture for good design. Cindy’s demonstration will leave you believing you can do this! Dobo’s Delights is located at 417 N. Main Street. 6 – 7 p.m. - Elite Etc. – Laser Engraving – Elite Etc. uses various lasers, tools and machines to create personalized items including mugs, t-shirts and unique gift items. Join Rick Walker as he demonstrates their laser machine to show the various uses for this machine and their tips and tricks to making sure the product is perfect. This up-close demonstration will leave you thinking about what you would like to laser engrave. Elite Etc. is located at 431 N. Main Street. 6 – 8 p.m. - Jess Williams – Pottery – Apple Tree Gallery – Jess is a local potter, sculptor and painter from Dayton, Ohio. She is a recent graduate of the University of Dayton and is currently on the hunt for a grad program. She works at UD as the ceramics technician, as well as at the galleries at Sinclair Community College. Apple Tree Gallery is located at 405 N. Main Street. 6 – 8 p.m. - Phil Moyer – Sidewalk Chalk – 300 Block of N. Main Street – Returning to Taste of the Arts again this year is talented sidewalk chalk artist Phil Moyer. Phil will create a memorable sidewalk chalk creation close to Susie’s Big Dipper. Susie’s Big Dipper is located at 323 N. Main Street.
